Oh how I soooo looked forward to seeing this reboot (Transformers: Age Of Extinction) of one of my favorite franchises of all time. Yes I am a Hasbro fan :-)

Well, can’t say how disappointed I was with this WAYYY too long battle of bots and humans and with the casting of Mark Wahlberg as the frustrated, broke single dad with a hot 17 yr old daughter Tessa (played by Nicola Peltz) that spends far too much of her time online romancing the other miscast but tolerable Shane (played by Jack Reynor). Wahlberg seems to just be there as a brooding cliche’ of an over-protective father who has no clue what parenting is about. You feel like you need to introduce him to his own daughter in this movie.

Clearly the script was secondary to the real purpose behind the film which is to see alien robots kick each others ass and we as the human collateral damage just get in their way.

***** SPOILER ALERT ****** The concept that these aliens were the reason behind dinosaur extinction is just laughable. It would have been better to have left THAT piece out altogether really…I mean why even include it when we are already bending reason with the robots? It doesn’t add anything to the storyline.

Well hopefully summer will be saved by apes when next week brings us “Dawn of the Planet of The Apes” Now THAT should ground us all in logic eh? :-)
